Sorry for disappearing from the blogosphere yet again. Aside from being unemployable, I have been busy researching my third book, but more of that later.
Last Monday I met with a high priced Boston area law firm. They have kindly agreed to take on the case of Paste vs. Crappy Charter School. I believe the term they used most frequently was "egregious".
The long and the short is I'm going to sue this school until they do what's right by my students. Just so that everyone out there is aware, charter school oversight doesn't stop with the Department of Education. That also goes for regular public schools. Any school really that receives federal funding for Special Education. Why am I telling you this? Because the joy of being a rabid dog chasing down a juicy bone like this one is that I didn't stop at simply filing suit. I also complained to the Office of Civil Rights. When most people think about special education, they think about kids with problems reading or kids with behavior problems. They rarely think about the fact that part of our nation's Civil Rights Movement (which spanned decades and set our nation on fire) also included the disabled and helped close down our state school system which in turn helped develop our nation's plan for serving individuals with any kind of disability whatsoever. So Crappy Charter School will not only be served for a suit but will also be investigated for violating the civil rights of its special education students. Whose proud of Paste?

ReplyDeleteOn November 20th a new film called New Moon will be released into theaters across the globe. This has fans howling in excitement.
The plot follows a girl named Bella who is torn between two loves: Jacob and Edward.
Many fans have taken sides, between the two characters.
Peyton Clark said “I like Edward because he makes Bella happy. She should be with who makes her happy.”
In this movie Edward puts Bella in great despair when he leaves her. This is when a werewolf named Jacob shows up.
Gabby Lamb said, “ Jacob is super hot! He is sweet to Bella, and treats her great! Jacob totally stomps Edward!”
Many students are excited to see the movie, because they have read all the books.
Jared Cagle said, “I love the books! The movies are even better then the books though! I just hope they don’t cut out any scenes with Jacob in them. He’s so dreamy!”
There re many other characters to fawn over however, Alice, Emmett, and Jasper are just a few.
Peyton Clark expressed her opinion when she said this. “Alice is so good looking! She rocks my world with her hotness!”
Jade Warthen said, “ I really like Jasper. He is so mysterious, and he can control emotions! How cool is that?”
KatieBeth Morrison said, “ Emmett is cutes vampire by far! He’s so big and strong. He’s like a big teddy bear! And his smile makes me melt inside!”
In the film, Edward fights an Italian vampire coven called the Volturi. He does this to protect his soul mate Bella.
Haven Printup said, “Jane is a vampire for the Volturi coven and she scares the heck out of me! She has the ability to inflict pain with her thoughts! I wouldn’t want to meet her in a dark alley!”
If you like the books or not, one should give this movie a chance. He or she might just be surprised!

ReplyDeleteI'm very proud of you, but now you need to stop talking about it on your blog. I don't want to see this coming back and hitting you on the face, because you talked about it on your blog. Keep it mum for now until it's over with. Maybe you can write a book about it later on. :)
